We all take pictures on trips, but how many do we actually like of ourselves? If you're tired of overthinking or avoiding the camera, this episode is for you. I'm sharing five feel-good tips to help you stop hiding and start capturing confident, joyful moments—no filters, no pressure, and definitely no need to “get ready.”

Let’s stop nitpicking and start showing up as we are.

 Key Takeaways

  • Good lighting beats a perfect outfit. Face the window or put the sun behind you—let the light do the work.
  • Movement is magic. Laugh, twirl, walk—ditch the stiffness and just live your moment.
  • Perfection is overrated. The blurry, messy shots often hold the best memories.
  • You don’t need to prove anything. Snap photos for yourself, not the algorithm.
  • Simple posture shifts = big confidence. Chin out, shoulders back, and own your presence.

Call to Action

The next time someone pulls out a camera, don’t hide. You are worthy of being seen—tired, glowing, unfiltered, and fully present.

If this episode gave you a confidence boost, I’d love to hear about it. Send me a quick message. Until then, keep living the whole picture.

Jama Pantel:

Hey y'all, it's your podcast bestie Jama coming at you once again with another short and sweet episode. Y'all seem to like those, but this time it's something a little more upbeat. I'm finally feeling like my old self again We'll see how long that lasts and I'm currently off on vacation soaking up some of that warm desert sun in Arizona with my brother and family out there. But I wanted to take a little time to drop a quick message about vacation photos, because here's the deal, y'all - Every time we travel, we take pictures, am I right? But how many of those photos do we actually like of ourselves? Let's change that up and let's stop nitpicking and just remember we're there to have a good time. So here are a few things I remind myself of when I'm on vacation and want to show up confidently in photos, even if I'm tired or jet, lagged or all the things.

Jama Pantel:

You don't have to get ready. You're on vacation, you're already there and you're already ready. Tip number one light matters more than your outfit choice. You don't always have to be Instagram ready, however. If you have pretty light, just snap it. If you're near a window and you have a beautiful view, face it. If you're outside, put that sun behind you and it'll naturally wrap around you for a soft, beautiful glow. Natural light does most of the work for you in this case. Tip number two movement makes everything feel better. Don't freeze up for a photo, laugh, spin, shift your weight, walk towards the camera, away from it, look over your shoulder, try different perspectives, have fun with it. You're on vacation, nobody knows you, they're never going to see you again. Move like you're living your best life and not just posing for the gram or the algorithm.

Jama Pantel:

Tip number three choose the memory over perfection. Some of my favorite photos are oftentimes blurry or a little bit out of focus or messy, but you know what? That blurriness, that movement somehow brings me back to how much fun I was having in that moment and what I felt during that time, and that matters more than any perfect photo ever will. Tip number four you don't even need to post these photos to prove you did it. Take the photos for you, do something for you. You're allowed to document your life without performing or promoting for the algorithm or social media.

Jama Pantel:

And tip number five when in doubt, chin out shoulders back and stand tall. These little posture shifts can change the entire vibe. You'll feel more confident in your body and it'll show in your photos. So the next time someone pulls out a phone or a camera to take a picture of you, don't hide, enjoy it. You're allowed to be seen for exactly who you are. And those are my tips, all I've got for now, because I'm off enjoying vacation In the meantime. Go live your best life y'all, and keep living the whole picture. Have a good one.
